Police pushing back against Trump

Police pushing back against Trump

Trump has successfully shot himself in the foot, but it may be a blessing in disguise.

Since his remarks supporting police “roughing up” criminals this past Friday, news site after news site has published their disapproval of the President.

On the other hand – something that may work in their favor in our current climate of race wars and police brutality – many departments have publicly posted their disdain for Trump’s comments, letting the people know that their job is to respect all people and perform their jobs in a professional manner.

Newsweek.com, The Washington Times, and Esquire.com are just a few of the media outlets that cited police departments’ push back at Trump. The police commissioner of the NYPD posted on Twitter:

“To suggest that police officers apply any standard in the use of force other than what is reasonable and necessary is irresponsible, unprofessional and sends the wrong message to law enforcement as well as the public.”

Could this possibly be some silver lining for the police?
