Cookie Wars

Cookie Wars

Today’s racial turbulence has created an atmosphere where certain people feel entitled to everything, even in the most ridiculous situations.

In Houston, Texas, 18-year-old Zachary Randolph was working at Great American Cookie when an officer stopped by and ordered a cheesecake brownie. To show his appreciation, Randolph paid for the officer’s order.

What should have ended there then turned into a completely unnecessary situation when the older man in line behind the officer asked Randolph if he was going to pay for his cookies as well, and then proceeded to throw a fit when Randolph replied no.

According to the article posted on, the man called Randolph “racist”, tried to come behind the counter, and his wife threatened to slap him. This is all in front of their young daughter.

On top of all of this, his boss suspended him and wrote him up. Thankfully, the owner of the company got wind of the situation and reversed the punishment, welcoming Randolph back to work.

So many parts of this event are despicable, deplorable, and just down-right enraging. A young man offers to buy an officer a cookie and the middle-aged man behind him throws a fit because he can’t have one too?! And in front of his young daughter, to boot! As if our officers aren’t facing enough hatred on the streets these days, now people will be afraid to show them any acts of kindness whatsoever because of the possible repercussions! This is just sickening.
